Your Hosts and the owners of Corozal Bay Resort are 45-year
old Doug Podzun, a Canadian/Belizean of German origin
and his wife Maria, a Mexican/Belizean.
Both have lived in Corozal Town most of their lives and know
the area very well.
Doug migrated to Corozal Town from Revelstoke, B.C.,
Canada, in September of 1969 with his parents who had
enough of the cold Canadian winters.
Maria came to Corozal from Villahermosa, Tabasco,
Mexico to attend high school and improve her English and
has not left since.
The Podzun's have two sons, Wolff, 17 and Hans, 12.
The Resort was an idea they had for many years and they finally
opened the Corozal Bay Inn on April 20th, 2000.
On April 20th, 2007 the Corozal Bay Inn officially changed
its name to Corozal Bay Resort.
They found their calling in life as they love running their
Resort.
